5 Coolest Exotic Pets
Before considering exotic pets or wildlife adoption make sure to check with your local and state laws as some animals may be prohibited from domestication in your area. Remember to check with a veterinarian for proper care and handling.
Sugar Gliders: Number one on our list is the infamous sugar glider. I know you have heard the name even if you didn’t exactly know what it was, allow me to enlighten you. This is a tiny, big eyed, energetic marsupial. Imagine a squirrel after downing 4 shots of espresso and has unexpected wings…you have yourself a Sugar Glider. They have an insane amount of energy and you will find them running, leaping, and gliding all over the place. Sugar Gliders are the olympic athletes of the Marsupials. They also have comedically large eyes. They have these tiny little bodies and their eyes account for 25 percent of their bodies…alright I’m exaggerating but they are huge!! They are adorable, hyper, fun pets to have. Assuming you live somewhere they are legal to own.
Chinchillas: Chinchillas are one of the softest pets you can own. Their fur is dense and famous for being incredibly soft. They are cute, pocket-sized, agile little creatures. They can jump and leap up to 6 feet. They are social pets that will have you mesmerized as they constantly chatter and leap about. Chinchillas are one of the coolest pets you could own and softest.
Fennec Fox: The Fennec Fox is such a cute and cool looking animal. It has these comedically oversized pointy ears that are way too big for its tiny body. In fact, it has a bobble head thing going on where its head in entirety looks too big for its body. It looks like a gentle breeze would knock it right over because it just has these tiny, skinny little legs trying to hold up this abnormally large head. It really is an adorable creature that only weighs about 2 or 3 pounds.
Raccoons: Raccoons are most commonly known to be wild but a few people out there have started keeping them as pets. These cut, little bandits have won the hearts of some home owners. Raccoons have adorable little hands that allow them to easily open and get into things just as a human would. They are incredibly intelligent and have high energy. Those that choose to have raccoons as pets enjoy finding ways of continuously stimulating their pet raccoon. This is a pet you definitely have to engage and play with making it an appealing pet for some.
Monkeys: We have all seen several movies or tv shows where someone owns an adorable monkey. Monkeys are a exotic pet that is highly enticing to own because they are cute, cuddly, and fun animals. It’s mesmerizing to watch them swing around and who doesn’t love a cuddly animal perched on their shoulder. It’s like having a toddler around all of the time which for some is ideal. Monkeys can wrap their arms around you giving you the perfect warm hug when needed.
