Does My Dog Dream?

Almost all dog owners are curious about whether or not their dog dreams. Maybe you have seen your dog kicking and making noises in their sleep and it made you wonder if they’re dreaming. Maybe you’re just curious. The answer is yes! Dog’s dream the same as humans.

Humans have sleep cycles we go through and dogs are similar to us in that way. They experience a REM cycle just like us. It’s typically during this cycle that dreaming happens.

You may notice them making noises or whimpering. Often, there whiskers and nose will twitch and move. You will see their body make slight twitching movements at times, they may even kick or paddle their legs. You will also notice rapid eye movement during while they’re dreaming or in REM state.

Dogs definitely dream just like us! You can tell when it’s happening by looking out for the above mentioned signs. They are likely dreaming about playing fetch or chasing a squirrel.
