Why Is My Dogs Nose Dry?
A dry nose can be potentially worrisome for your pup. Let’s explore the most common reasons your dogs nose might be dry.
Dehydration: Your dog may be suffering from dehydration and this could be the reason for their dry nose. If your dog isn’t getting enough water then they aren’t able to keep their nose wet. This is most likely to occur during the summertime when it’s extra hot out. Make sure your dog is getting plenty of water and staying hydrated.
Sick: If your dog is sick this can lead to a dry nose. Dry nose can be a symptom or sign that your dog has an illness.
Napping: When your dog is napping they aren’t licking their nose so they tend to wake up with a dry nose. Their nose should moisten back up as they wake and start licking their nose again. A dry nose from napping is temporary and should rectify upon them waking up.
Sunburn: If your dog was in the sun too long and got a sunburn this can lead to a dry nose. It’s important to protect your dog from the suns intense uv rays because it can burn their nose and dry it out.
