Tips On Giving Your Squirrely Dog A Bath
Bath time for our furry friends can sometimes end up a massive mess that leaves us exhausted and ultimately stopping early. Below are some helpful tips to keep your dog INSIDE the tub long enough for you to give them a proper bath.
Peanut Butter: This is honestly a top tier way of keeping your dog inside the tub and preoccupied so you can give your dog a bath. You can buy a suction cup dog toy and spread some peanut butter inside of grooves and your dog will be occupied for 95% of bath time. you will just have to be quick with the face at the end when you take away the peanut butter.
Exercise: Another amazing strategy is to wear your dog out. If you work your dog out extra hard they will be too tired to be extra squirrely during bath time. Since you know they will be getting a bath later on this is the time to take them to the lake or somewhere they can get dirty and you know they will tucker out.
Routine: It’s helpful in removing some of the stress from bath time if you have a set routine and stick to it every bath time. This relieves stress in your dog and will get them accustomed to bath time. Make sure you end each bath time with a little treat for them as part of the routine because they definitely earned it ;)
Do What You Can Before Hand: Make sure you brush your dog thoroughly prior to getting them inside the bath. The more you can get done before they get in the tub the better. Have all the tools you need ready to go and within reach. This will make it go quicker.
